In accordance with the latest Scottish Government COVID-19 Route Map announcement, we are pleased to report that routine eyecare services can recommence from Monday 3rd August. Appointments still need to be pre-arranged by telephone, during our normal hours of business – please do not turn up at the practice unannounced as we will not be able to let you in. We will still be prioritising for those patients who need Emergency or Essential eyecare, but will also be recalling patients who are due routine check-ups. We have had to change the way we do things to keep everyone safe, so you may be offered one or more of the following appointment types, depending on your needs:
Online booking of appointments is currently suspended. We are operating a telephone triage service during our normal hours of business.
It is possible that your enquiry or symptoms can be dealt with over the telephone. We are always happy to give advice, information and take orders during our normal business hours.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns about your eye health or your vision. If necessary, the Optometrist will invite you to have a video consultation or a face-to-face appointment as appropriate.
Out of hours, please contact NHS 24 for advice.
Where it is appropriate to do so, we now offer online video consultations, using NHS Near Me (Attend Anywhere). This is a private and secure video call service for patients with pre-arranged appointment times, where you will be invited to enter a ‘virtual waiting room’. If you do not have an appointment scheduled, your call will not be answered.
Enter the waiting room about five minutes before your appointment. You will need to use either Google Chrome or Safari browser and will be given the opportunity to test your connection speed.
If you have an appointment and are ready to start your video consultation, click below to begin:
Strict controls have been put in place to comply with Government guidelines. You will be contacted before you attend to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. In order to minimise the time you spend in the practice, you may also have part of your examination conducted by telephone or video consultation before you attend.
Social distancing will be practised wherever possible. Where this is not practical, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be in use. Protective screens have also been installed around the reception and dispensing areas.
Hand sanitiser will be readily available and you will be asked to wear a face covering during your time in the practice. Extra infection control measures have been introduced and appointment times have been spaced out to allow for disinfection of the practice between patients.
For full details on what we are doing to keep you safe during your visit, please read the COVID-19 GUIDANCE page.
